Algeria came from behind to beat 10-player Ivory Coast 2-1 in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final in Casablanca. Ivory Coast took the lead through Inès Konan in the 29th minute but were reduced to 10 players after Nsira Ouedraogo was sent off before half-time. Algeria equalised through substitute Inès Khiri in the 59th minute. Rebecca Elloh then missed a penalty for Ivory Coast, hitting the post, before Amira Ould Braham scored Algeria’s winner five minutes later. Algeria held off late pressure to seal a landmark victory. The result sends Algeria to their first-ever WAFCON semi-final and secures their maiden qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. They will face either Malawi or Ghana for a place in the final.
