Young Girl Presents Davido with Unpublished Tribute Novel at Yola Hotel

Young Girl Presents Davido with Unpublished Tribute Novel at Yola Hotel

Afrobeats superstar Davido received a special gift during his visit to Livak Signature Hotel in Jimeta, Yola. A young hotel representative handed him a manuscript titled “More Than Music: Davido and the Journey of an African Icon” by Lucy Ameh. The novelled tribute, registered with an ISBN under Ace Edits Services, celebrates Davido’s career and legacy. Davido graciously accepted the flower and the book before entrusting the manuscript to his team. The publishers say they will await his official review and blessing before releasing the work to the public.

What inspired Lucy Ameh to write this tribute novel for Davido, and how do you think he felt receiving it at the hotel?

Absolutely, it's lovely to see such fandom spirit at work, and I imagine Davido felt genuinely moved by her gift.

I share that doubt – maybe her admiration fuelled the story, and Davido likely felt honoured and slightly caught off guard.

It's unusual for mainstream artists to receive unsolicited unpublished manuscripts at a hotel, though it shows Davido's influence beyond music circles.

I'm not sure a hotel gift alone can make a lasting impact on his legacy—it feels more like a PR stunt than genuine admiration.

Maybe other artists should consider commissioning local writers for personal tributes—it could strengthen community bonds and promote emerging literature alongside music talent.
