Ola Aina Shines with 7.4 Rating in Forest’s Epic Win Over Porto

Ola Aina Shines with 7.4 Rating in Forest’s Epic Win Over Porto

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina lasted 90 minutes in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 victory over 10-man Porto in the Europa League quarter-final second leg. Morgan Gibbs-White’s strike at the City Ground sealed Forest’s first European semi-final appearance since 1984, where they will meet Premier League rivals Aston Villa. Porto struggled after Jan Bednarek was sent off in the eighth minute, extending their winless run in England to 24 matches. According to BBC Sport’s ratings, Aina impressed with a strong 7.40 score for his performance. Nigeria teammates Terem Moffi and Zaidu Sanusi also featured for Porto but were substituted in the second half.

Aina's 7.4 rating is solid, but I wonder if Forest's overall defensive shape or a man advantage really carried him.

A semi-final spot is great, but calling it the biggest moment since 1984 feels exaggerated to me.

Forest should build on this momentum by reinforcing their midfield before the semi-final to maintain that defensive resilience.
