Canadian Mountie Arrested Over Online Threats to Trump
An RCMP officer from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, was arrested after posting a video on Snapchat containing threats against U.S. President Donald Trump. The alleged incident took place last summer while he was on security duty at the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Alberta. A fellow officer reported the clip and a special investigations unit took over the case. The 34-year-old, Evenson Dumerlus, faces a charge of uttering threats. He was removed from duty immediately and is due to appear in court on July 30. The RCMP says it treats all threats seriously and urges anyone with information to come forward.
