ADC Rift: Bappa Alleges Atiku Favouring Modibbo Over Omar Suleiman
A fresh controversy has broken out in the ADC’s Adamawa chapter as party stakeholder Adamu Bappa accuses former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of engineering the replacement of Omar Suleiman with another aspirant, Modibbo. Bappa claims Atiku sent a text to a North-East ADC executive expressing his preference for Modibbo over Suleiman. He says his source spoke in confidence and challenges the ex-VP to publicly deny the allegation if it is false. He warns that imposing a candidate against grassroots wishes could damage Atiku’s influence in Adamawa and weaken his future presidential ambition. Bappa cites similar interventions in the cases of former Governors Bindow and Fintiri. The ADC chieftain urges party leaders to uphold internal democracy to protect the party’s credibility. Neither Atiku nor ADC national leadership has responded to these claims.
