Oyo Abduction: Makinde Confirms Death of Teacher and Security Operatives
Governor Seyi Makinde has confirmed that the mathematics teacher abducted from Ahoro-Esinele Community in Oyo State was killed by terrorists. He also mourned the loss of soldiers, Amotekun Corps members and local vigilantes who died after hitting improvised explosive devices during the rescue operation. Six suspects linked to the kidnappers have been arrested, and wounded security personnel are responding well to treatment. The governor assured that no expense would be spared in their care and appealed for patience from the victims’ families and religious groups. Makinde said his government is combining kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to free the remaining captives. He is also engaging neighboring states to block terrorists fleeing pressure points in the North-West and North-East. Citizens will receive daily briefings on the operation’s progress as efforts continue to rescue all abducted teachers and students.
