Why Nigeria Lacks a Credible Opposition Party

I believe Nigeria today lacks a serious opposition. The law clearly says the judiciary cannot interfere in a party’s internal affairs. Yet whenever an agent of the ruling party takes our weak opposition to court, they foolishly show up. They don’t realize those hearings are illegal. If I were leading the ADC, I’d attend only to inform the judge that he has no jurisdiction over our leadership. Any ruling from that court would be invalid. Even Tinubu wouldn’t fall for this if he were in opposition. He’d be laughing at our rivals’ gross foolishness. Politics is war, and those who threaten our party must feel the heat.

What do you think is the biggest hurdle stopping Nigeria's opposition from staying out of court when they know the judiciary can't meddle?

Could internal leadership struggles be more to blame than judiciary interference for a weak opposition?

It seems opposition parties only rush to court when pressured, yet courtroom drama isn't going to build real grassroots support or policy alternatives.

I'm not convinced that ignoring court entirely solves anything; sometimes legal visibility can highlight internal party weaknesses to the public.

Focus energy on strengthening local chapters and voter education instead of court battles to create a stronger, credible opposition framework.
