Ogbomoso Mourns as Teacher Killed in Oyo School Raid Is Laid to Rest
A Oyo State teacher who was shot dead during a coordinated raid on schools will be buried today in Ogbomoso. Adesiyan Adegboye, 49, was killed when suspected bandits attacked multiple schools in Oriire Local Government last Friday morning. The funeral service will be held at his home in the Owolake area of Ogbomoso. The attackers targeted Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, Community Grammar School and L.A. Primary School in Esiele, abducting several teachers and pupils. The assault sparked panic among parents, forcing many to rush to schools and prompting some to close over safety fears. The tragedy has renewed nationwide concerns over rising insecurity and the urgent need to protect schools and communities.
