She then began giving me looks and calling me “sir” when I arrived at work. One morning, we found ourselves alone in a quiet corner and gave in to the tension. Now, whenever I see her husband outside work, I pretend not to know him. His respect for me feels like a ticking time bomb. I’m plagued by guilt and fear that he’ll turn against me if he ever finds out.
