Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a man suspected of spying near the 25 Brigade headquarters in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State. The arrest reportedly took place around 10:15 p.m. on July 24 during a routine perimeter patrol. Troops said they found the suspect hiding behind the first security barrier on the route from Damboa town to the brigade headquarters. A torchlight and prayer beads were reportedly recovered from him. He is being held for preliminary questioning as security personnel seek to establish his identity, motive and any possible links to terrorist groups. Military authorities said the North-East security situation remains unpredictable despite relative calm in some areas, with troops maintaining heightened vigilance.
