The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has released its final list of aspirants for the House of Representatives primaries scheduled for 16 May 2026. Four supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara were disqualified from contesting, while 21 aspirants loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike were cleared. Those not cleared include Awaji Inombek Abiante, Boma Goodhead, Air Commodore John Opera (rtd) and Hon. Anderson Igbiki. Among the cleared is Martin Amaewhule, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, who will vie for Obio-Akpor Federal Constituency. State APC Publicity Secretary Chibike Ikenga confirmed the list was approved by the party’s national leadership and urged aspirants to comply with all guidelines ahead of Saturday’s primary election.
