Salihu Suleiman Elected SDP North-West Vice Chairman as New Zonal Team Takes Office

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) recently convened its North-West Zonal Congress in Kaduna, electing all candidates unopposed. Salihu Suleiman emerged as National Vice Chairman under the supervision of Electoral Committee Chairman Adamu Idris and Secretary Titus Madaki. The new executives will drive mobilisation and strengthen grassroots engagement across the seven states of the North-West. Party leaders emphasised inclusive leadership and unity, urging officials to place the party’s interests above personal ambition. Addressing delegates, Suleiman thanked members for their confidence and outlined key priorities: expanding the SDP’s influence, improving electoral performance, and fostering cohesion. Other appointees include Rilwanu Jamo as Zonal Secretary, Hassan Gidan Laka as Treasurer, and Ummi Kabir as Women Leader.

SDP should focus on engaging local voters now, turning this unopposed victory into solid grassroots mobilization across the North-West.
