Tuchel’s 2026 England Squad Surprise: Foden and Palmer Omitted — 1 of 4
1 / 4

England manager Thomas Tuchel will name his final 26-man roster for the 2026 World Cup on Friday. Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester City’s Phil Foden have been left out despite strong Premier League campaigns. The squad will fine-tune tactics in warm-up friendlies against New Zealand and Costa Rica. England opens Group A play on June 17 against Croatia, before facing Ghana and Panama. Reports from a leading sports outlet suggest former Brentford striker Ivan Toney will earn a surprise call-up. Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire are also omitted, while Dan Burn and Manchester City youngster Nico O’Reilly could join the squad.
