Wike: Being a Christian Does Not Mean I Must Do Politics Like a Pastor

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says his Christian faith does not mean he must conduct politics like a pastor. Speaking during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Wike said politics and religious ministry operate by different rules. He rejected criticism that he should follow the path of his late father, who was a gospel preacher. Wike argued that family background does not determine a person's profession, noting that although he is a lawyer and his wife is a judge, their son is neither. His comments come amid continuing criticism of his role in Rivers State politics and his rift with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
