Global Regulators Approve Paramount–Warner Bros Discovery Merger

Earlier this year, it was reported that Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery planned to merge, pending regulatory sign-off. The US Department of Justice has completed its antitrust review and approved the transaction without requiring divestitures. Since then, China and other jurisdictions — including Australia, Germany, France and Saudi Arabia — have also cleared the deal. The European Union’s decision is still awaited. If finalized, the combined company will bring together major studios, television networks and streaming services under one roof. Assets will include HBO, Paramount+, Max and franchises such as Harry Potter, DC, Mission: Impossible, Star Trek and Barbie.
