Is Nigeria Just a Colonial Construct Doomed to Fail?
I challenge you to consider whether Nigeria existed before colonial rule. Was it ever an organic nation, or merely a British invention? With over 250 ethnic groups, rotating power among them could take centuries. Nigeria was born from a business venture, not from African unity. That makes it hard to sustain. People fight and die for a country they did not create. I dream of an Africa united by authentic cultures, like a Yoruba nation spanning Togo to Edo. For over sixty years of independence, we lack basic services. No stable electricity. No good roads or schools. Our leaders seek treatment abroad while we bear the burden. Foreign interests still pull the strings. Why defend a colonial construct? Our faith is not in our hands. We are stuck with a faulty foundation that undermines any real progress.
