He repeated his claim that “without the United States, there would be no Israel” and urged more responsible action in Lebanon as clashes with Hezbollah mount. Iran responded by warning that continued Israeli strikes would violate a recent interim agreement to halt hostilities. Criticising Israel’s tactics, Trump suggested Syria could do a better job against Hezbollah and stressed that civilian safety should guide military operations. He added that Netanyahu “has to be more responsible” if the broader peace process with Iran is to succeed.
