Baby Bottles 101: Why Durability Isn’t Everything in PP, PPSU and Glass
Most parents pick bottles by drop resistance. That makes sense but misses the real point. What truly matters is how each material ages under heat, cleaning and daily use. PP is lightweight and affordable but can develop micro-scratches and release tiny particles over time. PPSU resists heat and deformation longer but still degrades slowly under repeated stress. Glass stays chemically inert but is heavy and can shatter if dropped. Surface wear lets bacteria hide and can trap residue. Watch for lingering odors, stains or rough spots and replace bottles promptly when cleaning becomes difficult. Instead of asking which bottle is toughest, decide which risks you can manage. Choose PP for cost and convenience, PPSU for heat resilience or glass for chemical stability—but only if you stay on top of care and timely replacement.
