Nigeria’s men’s 3×3 basketball team lost 21–15 to Australia in their second group match at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. Ikechukwu Nwamu scored nine points for Nigeria, but Australia held on for the win. Nigeria opened the tournament with a victory over the Cayman Islands and will face New Zealand at 7:00 p.m. Nigerian time. A place in the semi-finals remains within reach. Nigeria also won its first gold medal of the Games on Friday. Esther Nworgu claimed gold in the women’s lightweight powerlifting event after lifting 123kg for 119 points. Esther Oyema won silver, while England’s Olivia Broome took bronze.
