Man Arrested in Bauchi for Kidnapping and Murder of 4-Year-Old After N100,000 Ransom
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 20-year-old Rabiu Safiyanu after a four-year-old boy was reported missing on March 18. The victim’s father received a ransom demand of N500,000 and paid N100,000 but did not see his son again. Investigators traced the crime to Safiyanu, a friend of the child’s uncle. He confessed to abducting and strangling the boy on Warinje Hills. Police recovered the decomposed body and the suspected murder weapon. The suspect is in custody, and the State Criminal Investigation Department will handle the prosecution. The Commissioner of Police has urged residents to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
