FG Distributes 100,800 Bags of Fertiliser to 25,200 Farmers in Northern Nigeria
The National Agricultural Development Fund has begun distributing 100,800 bags of locally produced fertiliser to 25,200 smallholder farmers in Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi and Jigawa under the Renewed Hope Farm Input Support Programme (FISP). Each beneficiary receives four free bags marked “Not for Sale” to prevent diversion. The initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to cut input costs, boost food production and strengthen national food security. Over 1,800 agricultural extension workers will be deployed nationwide to offer technical support and modern farming techniques. The scheme has also supported more than 5,000 ginger farmers in Kaduna and helped onion farmers affected by flooding in Kebbi and Sokoto. Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and Minister of Agriculture Abubakar Kyari commended the programme’s role in improving productivity, creating jobs and enhancing food availability across the country.
