Kwara Customs Seizes 425.5kg of Tramadol and Cannabis, Confiscates Over ₦204m in Smuggled Goods
The Nigeria Customs Service in Kwara intercepted 49.5kg of cannabis and 376kg of tramadol during coordinated operations across key smuggling routes between March and May 2026. Officers also seized 155 bags of foreign parboiled rice, 3,697 packages of macaroni pasta and 418 jerrycans of vegetable oil, among other items, bringing the total value of confiscated goods to over ₦204 million. Despite the ongoing closure of the land border with Benin, the command recorded nine seizures and generated ₦3.89 billion in first-quarter revenue. The Acting Controller urged residents of border communities to share credible information to support anti-smuggling efforts.
