NYSC Anambra Warns Employers: No Tolerance for ‘Ghost’ Corps Members

The NYSC Anambra State Coordinator has warned that any employer found supporting truancy or “ghosting” among corps members will be blacklisted. Speaking at the 2026 NYSC/Corps Employers’ Workshop in Awka, she urged organisations to supervise and mentor their corps members, provide accommodation or allowances, transport support, security and a discrimination-free workplace. The workshop, themed “Fine-tuning Stakeholders’ Collaboration to Enhance Corps Members’ Welfare and Workplace Experience,” featured cultural performances and interactive sessions to strengthen employer-NYSC partnerships. State officials highlighted youth empowerment initiatives like the 1Youth2Skills Programme, which has trained over 13,300 beneficiaries with more than ₦5 billion in grants, to underscore their commitment to building a skilled workforce.
