Bauchi Troops Arrest Suspect in Assault on Nigerian Air Force Officer

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested a suspect over the assault of a Nigerian Air Force airman in Tafawa Balewa LGA, Bauchi State. The incident occurred on June 25 at about 8:15 a.m. while the officer was on a welfare pass to Gital Community. Security sources say troops from Sector 8 responded swiftly to the distress call and detained Umar Farouq Saidu as other assailants fled. Saidu is now in custody and being interrogated to help track down the remaining suspects and support the ongoing investigation.
