Fegge All Stars Edge Holy Spirit 2-1 in Chakapain 2026 Curtain-Raiser
Defending champions Fegge All Stars secured a 2-1 win over Holy Spirit All Stars in the opening match of the 2026 Chakapain Anambra State All Stars Competition at Awka City Stadium on July 12, 2026. Moses Akazojie gave Fegge the lead in the 9th minute and Emmanuel Chimeobi added a fine second. Holy Spirit’s Amaechi Ofojede pulled one back in the 67th minute but could not force a draw. The tournament features 25 veteran clubs and is backed by Patricklingo Pharmaceutical Company. The state’s Youth and Sports Commissioner, represented by the ANSFA chairman, praised the sponsor’s drive to unite ex-professional footballers over 40 and promote healthy living. Sponsor Chief Patrick Onwuelingo urged fair play across all teams. The opening ceremony also included a march past and ceremonial kick-off led by Chief Onwuelingo, the ANSFA chairman, and ZESCO United’s forward Chijioke Alaekwe.
