Calabar Police Arrest Alleged Fake Doctor Running Illegal Mobile Clinic
The Cross River State Police have arrested 39-year-old Udeme Emmanuel Ekpeme for impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence. He allegedly operated an illegal mobile clinic in Calabar South. The suspect was taken into custody after a 45-year-old woman accused him of presenting himself as a medical doctor and collecting ₦500,000 under the promise of securing employment for her children at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital. Police recovered medical equipment believed to be connected to the scheme. The command’s spokesperson says the Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation to uncover the full circumstances and identify any other victims or accomplices.
