Why Are Nigerian Women So Focused on Money in Relationships?

I believe schools should promote math, engineering, physics, chemistry and biology more heavily. Too many graduates hold degrees that add little value. We are stalling our progress by encouraging so many parasitic qualifications. Why are Nigerian women so focused on money? In my view, the gift-giving culture among Nigerian men creates an expectation of lavish spending on dates. Men often spend a larger share of their income compared to Western counterparts. This social convention can look like gold-digging from a Western perspective. I remember once I missed obvious hints from a girl who probably wanted me to treat her to something. I was too dense to realise, and the opportunity passed. Life might have turned out differently if I had understood her better.
