Ebonyi NUJ Seeks New Land for Journalists’ Estate After Revocation
The Ebonyi State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists has appealed to Governor Francis Nwifuru to allocate an alternative parcel of land after its three-hectare site at the EBSU Pocket Layout was revoked. Delegates at a recent congress held at the Dr. Sam Egwu Press Centre noted that the land was originally given by the former administration for a Journalists’ Estate funded by members’ contributions. They urged the state government to replace the revoked allocation with another suitable location. The union said the estate will offer affordable residential plots and foster community among media practitioners. It expressed optimism that Governor Nwifuru will consider the appeal and preserve the investment and aspirations of its members.
