Aderemi Adeoye Set for Middlesbrough Trial After Impressive NPFL Season
Aderemi Adeoye, 19, has been invited for a trial with Championship side Middlesbrough ahead of a possible summer move. The defensive midfielder joined Ikorodu City in January and quickly established himself as a key player in the Nigeria Premier Football League. He was also named in Nigeria’s squad for the Unity Cup invitational in May and made two substitute appearances for the Super Eagles. Transfermarkt currently values Adeoye at €50,000, but Ikorodu City are expected to demand a higher fee. A move to Middlesbrough would mark a major milestone in his career and highlight the NPFL’s growing reputation as a talent breeding ground. Should the transfer be completed, Adeoye would join the ranks of Nigerian internationals who featured for Middlesbrough, including Yakubu, John Obi Mikel, Kenneth Omeruo and Kelechi Iheanacho.
