15-Year-Old Boy Dies After Abusing Dexamethasone Tablets in Delta

A 15-year-old boy, Gift Oberhirhi, died after taking fifteen dexamethasone tablets without a prescription. His friend, 15-year-old Destiny Akpofure, allegedly supplied him with the pills. Gift fell ill soon after ingestion and died while being rushed to the hospital. The Orogun police division recovered his body and sent it to the General Hospital mortuary for autopsy. SP Bright Edafe warned that the illegal distribution and misuse of controlled drugs pose serious public safety risks, especially among young people. The suspect has been arrested and remains in custody as investigations continue.
