Late Salary Leaves Me Drowning in Loans: A Teacher’s Plea
Good evening everyone. I never expected to borrow so much this year. It started in February when my January salary didn’t arrive, so I took a loan and repaid it once I was paid. Before Easter, things got worse. I still hadn’t been paid or given a bonus at the school where I teach. I turned to credit apps with high interest, but I immediately repay small amounts because I hate owing people. Now I have two major repayments due on July 4. I rushed to clear them after a friend asked for urgent help for her elderly mother. I even reborrowed to cover her, starving myself just to keep up. Students are being sent home for unpaid fees and I’m exhausted. I don’t know what I’ll eat tomorrow. Once I finish these loans, I hope to save and finally breathe. I don’t want to teach under this financial strain anymore.
