Osun Governorship Election: Observers Report Calm Voting but Flag BVAS Delays
The Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room says it deployed accredited observers across all 30 local government areas for the Osun State governorship election. Its interim assessment describes the election-day environment as calm and largely peaceful. It says voters turned out early and INEC personnel began voting at the scheduled 8:30am in 87% of polling units observed. However, the group reported delays, congestion and inadequate BVAS deployment at some polling units. It also cited printer-pad failures in parts of Ilesa West and said one issue in Ife North was escalated to INEC and resolved. The observers say they will continue monitoring the collation process and other developments in the state.
