1 / 5

The Zamfara State Community Protection Guards intercepted a commercial driver on the Gusau–Dansadau road. They found 98 explosive devices, ₦13 million in cash and three boxed motorcycles. Additional items recovered included cartons of cigarettes, crates of apples and suspected Indian hemp. The driver, identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, was headed to Bindin village, an area known for bandit activity. According to the commandant, the suspect admitted he was delivering the goods to illegal miners, many of whom are believed to be bandits or their accomplices. He will be handed over to the proper authorities. Eight other individuals are currently under investigation in connection with the case.
