Local Candidates, Not Tinubu, Are Trying to Stop Obi’s Momentum
I’m convinced Tinubu isn’t the one blocking Obi from the ballot. It’s senatorial, House of Reps, House of Assembly, local government chair, and some governorship hopefuls who feel threatened by Obi’s growing support. These politicians fear a down-ballot sweep for the NDC. You can already see top contenders aligning themselves with the party to ride Obi’s wave. Even Kwankwaso has his eye on the 2031 presidency. He’s counting on inheriting Obi’s base—delivering Kano and Jigawa’s votes to strengthen his future bid.
