Odegbami Urges Tinubu to Halt NFF Elections Over Alleged Irregularities

A former Super Eagles captain and national sports ambassador has urged President Bola Tinubu, the National Sports Commission and football stakeholders to suspend the planned Nigerian Football Federation board elections. He argues that the current structure of Nigerian football administration is flawed, alleging that the electoral process is vulnerable to manipulation, lacks transparency and excludes potential contestants. He also questions the legal status of the federation and the role of state football associations. He says he will approach the civil courts with documents for clarification on football governance, FIFA's role in Nigeria, government oversight and representation within the electoral process. He wants the elections paused until these issues are reviewed.
