On March 18, 2026, operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Anambra State Police Command arraigned two suspects before the High Court in Onitsha. They face charges in the murder of their employer, Ikechukwu Simon Nwite, and the subsequent theft of his funds. The prime suspect, Chiemerie Anieke M, 21, allegedly struck Nwite on the head with a pestle, causing his death. He is also linked to a separate attack on Ogechukwu Nwite at Fegge, Onitsha. The second accused, Godwin Nnabuike Nwokporo M, 21, is said to have provided the bank account used to transfer over ₦8m.
