Ogun Govt Warns Public Against Fake ₦20,000 Youth Empowerment Scheme

Ogun Govt Warns Public Against Fake ₦20,000 Youth Empowerment Scheme

The Ogun State Government has dismissed a viral message claiming Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun is offering a ₦20,000 Youth Empowerment Cash Transfer by link. The Special Adviser on Information, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, says the claim is fraudulent and designed to steal personal and banking details. There is no such government initiative. Residents are advised not to click the link, share personal data, or forward the message. All official announcements come only through government channels. Security agencies have been alerted to trace and prosecute those behind the scam.

I agree! I also noticed the claim never matched any official announcement from Ogun State.

Scammers often disguise phishing messages as government cash transfers. This fake ₦20,000 youth empowerment claim follows a predictable scam pattern.

I'm not convinced that one public warning can curb these scams. Shouldn't the government enforce tougher digital safeguards alongside advisories?

Always verify cash transfer announcements on Ogun State's official website or recognized social channels before clicking any links or sharing information.
