Gunmen Kill Farm Labourer, Kidnap Owner in Kaiama, Kwara; Demand ₦20m Ransom
Attackers stormed Purapura Farm Settlement along the Venra‐Tenebo road in Kaiama LGA around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29. They shot dead a labourer from the Republic of Benin who had just arrived the previous day and abducted farm owner Musa Purapura. The kidnappers used the owner’s phone to contact his family, demanding ₦20 million and two new Haojue motorcycles. A local traditional ruler confirmed the ransom call and warned that any delay could endanger the victim’s life. A joint security team of police, other agencies and local vigilantes has been deployed to search nearby bush and forest areas. Authorities say efforts are under way to rescue the abducted farmer and prevent further incidents.
