Akor Adams Scores Twice, Sets Up Venezia Win to Earn Okoye Showdown

Akor Adams marked his Venezia debut with two goals and an assist in a 3-2 Coppa Italia win over Modena. Modena led through Giuseppe Ambrosino in the 17th minute, but Adams equalised nine minutes later. Ambrosino restored the lead before half-time, while Adams set up John Yeboah’s 83rd-minute leveller and struck the winner two minutes later. The result sends Venezia into the round of 16, where Adams is set to face fellow Nigerian international Maduka Okoye and Udinese on September 2. Udinese reached the stage after a 1-0 win over Padova. Venezia begin their 2026/27 Serie A campaign against Lecce next Sunday, before travelling to face AC Milan at San Siro.
