Judo Federation Secures IGP Tunji Disu’s Backing for 2026 Championships
The Nigeria Judo Federation has won the backing of Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu to advance judo nationwide. A delegation led by NJF President Dr. Musa Oshodi visited the IGP at Force Headquarters, Abuja. They presented three key requests: sponsorship for the 2026 IGP Judo Championships, closer collaboration for judo training within the Nigeria Police Force, and support in attracting individual and corporate sponsors. As a former judo athlete and now a 4th Dan Black Belt, IGP Disu pledged his full partnership with the federation. He was honoured with a promotion to Life Patron of the NJF in recognition of his contributions. The NJF is optimistic that this new partnership will boost judo both as a competitive sport and as a tool for discipline and tactical readiness across security agencies ahead of the 2026 championships.
