Okoronkwo’s Last-Minute Strike Secures 2-1 Win for Super Falcons Over Tanzania

Okoronkwo’s Last-Minute Strike Secures 2-1 Win for Super Falcons Over Tanzania

The Super Falcons wrapped up their final tune-up for WAFCON 2026 with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Tanzania in Casablanca. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade broke the deadlock in the 14th minute with a composed finish from Rinsola Babajide’s setup. Nigeria dominated the first half but could not find a second goal before the break. After making four changes at half-time, the Falcons conceded an equaliser in the 79th minute. Esther Okoronkwo then fired home the winner in the 89th minute to hand the 10-time African champions a morale-boosting result ahead of their title defence in Rabat next week.
