Nigerian MBA Student and Athlete Fatally Shot in Ohio Days Before Graduation
Oluwabukola Pereira, a 30-year-old Nigerian athlete and Xavier University graduate student, was killed during a robbery at an auto centre in Lockland, Ohio. The attack happened on Friday, May 8, just days before her scheduled MBA graduation. According to local authorities, Pereira chased a suspect who had fled with roughly $1,500 in cash. She was reportedly shot during the pursuit. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, but has not yet confirmed a motive. Pereira was due to receive her Master of Business Administration on May 16 and had already secured admission for further postgraduate study. She was also an active member of a local running club and known for her faith, generosity, and positive spirit. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
