Bus Conductor Stabs LASTMA Officer During Traffic Stop in Abule-Egba
A LASTMA officer was injured when a Volkswagen commercial bus conductor attacked him with a screwdriver during a routine traffic enforcement at Ile-Epo Market in Abule-Egba. The team had stopped the bus for obstructing traffic on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. The conductor, identified as Lekan Olasunkanmi, was arrested at the scene and handed over to the Abattoir Police Division. The wounded officer was taken to a nearby hospital and is now recovering under medical care. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority condemned the assault and warned that any attack on its personnel will be met with the full weight of the law. Motorists and commercial transport operators are urged to comply with traffic regulations to ensure a safer road environment.
