Court Sets June 19 for Judgment in PRNigeria Publisher’s Suit Against NIPSS
The Federal High Court in Abuja will deliver judgment on June 19 in the case brought by PRNigeria publisher Yushau Shuaib. He is challenging his withdrawal from the Senior Executive Course 47 at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru-Jos. Shuaib’s lawyer presented a 43-paragraph affidavit, 14 exhibits, and a written address, urging the court to declare the withdrawal unlawful and order his reinstatement. Counsel for NIPSS countered that the claims were exaggerated and asked the court to dismiss the suit. In his suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1329/2025, Shuaib seeks reinstatement with full privileges, ₦1 billion in general and aggravated damages, ₦100 million for litigation costs, and a perpetual injunction against further harassment. The judge also instructed him to return the hostel key he had retained pending resolution of his accommodation dispute.
