Netanyahu Proposes Phasing Out US Military Aid Over the Next Decade

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for a gradual end to his country’s reliance on American military assistance. Speaking in a recent US television interview, he said Israel receives about $3.8 billion annually under a 2016 defence pact and aims to reduce that support to zero within ten years. Netanyahu argued that Israel has “come of age” militarily and should pursue greater strategic independence while preserving its close ties with Washington.
