Paramount has unveiled the first images from its blockbuster adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel Children of Blood and Bone. The photos reveal Amandla Stenberg as Princess Amari, Thuso Mbedu as Zélie Adebola and Tosin Cole as Tzain in the mystical kingdom of Orïsha. Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film hits cinemas and IMAX on 15 January 2027. It follows Zélie on her quest to restore magic to the Maji. She is joined by her brother Tzain, Princess Amari and Prince Inan in an epic battle against a ruthless king. Beyond its high-fantasy spectacle, the movie celebrates Yoruba heritage and representation. Key scenes were filmed in Lagos and the cast features Nigerian talents like Richard Mofe-Damijo, Shamz Garuba and Temi Fagbenle alongside Hollywood icons such as Viola Davis and Idris Elba.

The visuals look stunning, though capturing both the magic and political depth of the novel won't be easy.
