Ogun, Security Agencies Collaborate to Secure Gateway Airport Hajj Operations
Security agencies and the Ogun State Government have pledged full cooperation to guarantee smooth Hajj departures from Gateway International Airport in Iperu-Remo. The commitment was made during a strategic meeting with representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Immigration, Customs, NDLEA, DSS and other agencies. Ogun State Commissioner for Transportation Gbenga Dairo affirmed that the airport meets all Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority requirements and forms a key pillar of the state’s economic development drive. He noted that the facility is fully certified for domestic commercial flights and ready to handle Hajj operations this year. A temporary processing camp will serve about 500 pilgrims ahead of their departure. Consultants and agency representatives confirmed the airport’s modern infrastructure and stressed the importance of continued inter-agency collaboration to ensure safe, efficient Hajj operations.
