Is AI Becoming a ‘Religion’ That Could Destroy Humanity?

I recently saw a discussion about AI tools replacing graphic designers. That made me wonder: are we overlooking the bigger threat of total AI dependence? AI risks turning into a global ideology that undermines human creativity and knowledge. If we offload our skills and ideas to machines, we could face unprecedented economic and political crises. Major governments may find themselves powerless against tech giants driving AI development. To avert this future, lawmakers worldwide—including African governments—must introduce strict regulations on generative AI. We need protections for human jobs and incentives to use human services over AI. Individuals also have a role: we should limit AI adoption in daily life and support businesses that rely on people’s creativity. Ultimately, the fate of humanity depends on our choices today. Will we safeguard human ingenuity and knowledge, or surrender everything to AI?
