Attackers Kill ECWA Pastor, Wife and Two Children in Plateau Community
Gunmen stormed Gako village in Rim Ward, Riyom LGA of Plateau State around 11 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, killing Rev. Ayuba Choji of the Evangelical Church Winning All, his wife Chundung, and their two children, Cyril and Endurance. Residents say the raiders opened fire indiscriminately, forcing many families to flee into nearby bushes. Martha Dalyop, a community member, described this as the latest in a recurring wave of violence that has left locals too afraid to sleep at home or tend their farms. Rwang Tengwong, publicity secretary of the Berom Youths Moulder Association, explained that attackers often work in coordinated teams—one group shoots residents while others destroy crops or block escape routes. He added that large swaths of farmland in Barkin Ladi LGA were also destroyed in recent days, exacerbating food insecurity.
