Igbo Leaders Warn Atiku Abubakar: No Forgiveness for 2027 Presidency Sabotage

This week, Igbo elders, youth groups and market leaders in the Southeast issued a stern warning to Atiku Abubakar. They said they will not forgive him if he blocks an Igbo presidency again. They recalled that in 2023, Atiku allegedly refused to zone the PDP ticket to the Southeast. That decision forced Peter Obi to leave the party. “He sabotaged Igbo Presidency in 2023,” said the Coalition of Igbo Professionals. Traders in Onitsha and Aba called 2023 “the wound that refused to heal.” Youth leaders accused Atiku of repeating the pattern in 2027 talks. “The same hand that blocked us in 2023 is reaching out again,” one leader warned. Traditional rulers and women’s groups urged Atiku to “search his conscience” and avoid another “great sabotage.” They stressed that Igbo forgiveness has limits. “We forgave a war. We may not forgive a second sabotage,” they said.
